RCIA
What exactly is the RCIA, the "Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults"?
The RCIA process is a period of reflection, prayer, instruction, discernment and formation designed to enable women and men to become full participating members of the Catholic Church. It includes several stages marked by study, prayer and rites at Mass.
Participants in the RCIA include
"Our hearts are restless, O Lord, until they rest in you" wrote Saint Augustine. The desire for God is written in the human heart. Our journey towards God is found through Jesus Christ, and the Catholic Church is the community Jesus established in God's name for restless hearts here on earth to find peace and solace on their life journeys. Please consider referring friends or family members who might be searching to join us in exploring their faith yearnings, beginning with a noncommittal period of "Inquiry" in our parish RCIA process beginning soon.
Participants in the RCIA include
- Unbaptized being prepared for initiation into the Catholic Church (Baptism, First Eucharist & Confirmation)
- Baptized Christians preparing for full communion in the Catholic Church (First Eucharist & Confirmation)
- Uncatechized Catholics seeking reception of the sacrament of Confirmation and possibly First Eucharist.
