Sacrament of Baptism
In order for us to register the Baptism of your child at Resurrection Parish, please bring to the Parish Office the following documents:
NOTE FOR THE GODPARENTS: The Church requires that all children to be baptized have at least one Godparent of either sex. One Godparent of each sex may also be chosen. To fulfill the role of Godparent, a person must be at least sixteen years of age and must be a baptized and confirmed Catholic. The person chosen must be living a life in harmony with the role to be undertaken (that is, they should be regularly practicing Catholics and if married, they should have been married in the Church.) The child’s parents may not serve as Godparents.
- A copy of the Child's birth certificate
- Proof that parents and Godparents have attended the pre-baptismal classes
- Registration form completed
- A donation of $50.00

Pre-Baptismal Classes
For English Baptism Preparation class, please contact the parish office to register for the class. Baptism preparation is required for the parents and godparents. Preparation classes are on the third Saturday of the month at 11:00am in the Parish Choir Room.

The classes remind and inform parents and godparents of the obligations and responsibilities that go along with having their children baptized. The classes review some history of Baptism, the symbolism used during the Sacrament as well as information and ideas how to carry on the Sacrament of Baptism after the actual ceremony.
2026 BAPTISM PREP DATES

Who can be a Sponsor?
- The Godparent must be designated by the one to be Baptized, by the parents or the person who takes their place, or in their absence by the pastor.
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
- Must be a practicing Catholic who has been Baptized, Confirmed and already received the most Holy Sacrament of the Eucharist.
- Not be the father or the mother of the one to be Baptized.
